There is much to see and do
in and around Shelburne. Near the Historic Waterfront District (see
map here), you will find art galleries
and antique stores, gift shops and book stores, performing
arts centre and a yacht
club and public marina. Yachting and canoeing are available and the
golf course is excellent. Our beaches are sublime and we can boast some
of the best birding spots in the Maritimes.
The local arts council produces both a film
series and performance
series, each lasting from fall through spring. Yearly event highlights
include:

Roseway Beach and Round Bay Beach
Roseway, Shelburne Co. (15 minutes from town)
A spectacular sandy beach on the ocean. Visitors and locals alike come
here to jump waves and swim in the Atlantic Ocean. It is a perfect spot
to spend the day.
Welkum Park
Welshtown, Shelburne Co. (10 minutes from town)
A small beach on Welshtown Lake, this is the prime spot to come on hot
days. Pack a picnic to eat on picnic tables or in one of the huts. There
is plenty of parking as well as changing rooms and outdoor washroom
facilities.
Sand Hills Beach Provincial Park
Villagedale Shelburne Co. (20 minutes from Shelburne)
Enjoy this white sand beach and warm ocean waters. Sand dunes surround
this fantastic beach. Change rooms and picnic tables are on site for
your use.
